August Week 2 Project - Butterfly Email

Tom's Version (with Leslie edits)

Leslie Original
I really liked the design of this email and wanted to bullet point some interesting tidbits I picked up along the way here.

The text had to be flip flopped so it would look less salesy and more subtle. Like we were trying to spread a message versus sell them a book.

Background colors of emails can be a color besides white (in this case cream) but it must be a solid.

To get the images directly off of a website -
In Safari go to: Window > Activity.
And in firefox go to: Tools > Page Info > Media.

Design wise -
Note the buttons * and the p.s. section.
Also not every border has to have "ribbon" or wavy border.

Most Inspiring - August 2012

These are the Most Inspiring images for August 2011. To get rid of pixellation (both from the amount of images and the condensing of them) - I used vector mask and shrunk and rotated in several steps.

I noticed a drastic change as far as dithering between these and the cause of the mont.

The inspiration for these was the sweltering summer heat.

In the version that eventually went  up on BNET the image of Dolly (and the other 2 was considerably less red.  I as a personal preference wanted to make all three look like vibrant paintings.  I also wanted to alter the image in such a way it was a completely different take on the original so there would not have to be a credit caption.
